Waste

The amount of waste in today’s industrialized society is unreal. What we throw away could most likely be used to make a lot of poor people’s lives better. The worst thing though about this situation, besides the fact that things people need that someone is wiling to just give away gets wasted instead, is that, the resources that went into the objects are also wasted. Most things today are now produced in sweatshops of various types, poor people work in usually terrible or oppressive conditions to bring us the merchandise we so casually throw away. We are wasting the labor, the efforts of a lot of people, not to mention the non renewable natural resources that went into these products.

Enter the dumpster diver, a resourceful individual who doesn’t want to see anything go unused. Many brand new items often get thrown away by the retail industry that have never been used but because the packaging is torn, as anyone who’s worked in a stockroom would be happy to tell you.
